MacLaren Stool - Dining, Counter and Bar
The MacLaren Stool is the most pared-down of the line: no arms, no back, drawn for the kitchen that wants seating without architecture. The frame holds, the cushion still rests on its sling of leather or fabric tightened with leather belts, and the seat gives under the sitter as a good saddle gives.
Like the rest of the MacLaren family, the stool reads as if it might fold; it does not. The crossing legs and leather strapping are the visual language of the campaign tradition, but here the joints are fixed and braced for the long life of a stool that lives in a kitchen and is sat on every day.
Offered in dining, counter, and bar heights, all three adjustable to non-standard dimensions when the room calls for it. It is the version one chooses for the long counter where backed stools would crowd the line, or for the island where the stool ought to slip beneath the overhang and disappear when the meal is over.
