Chatwin Tallback Swivel Stool

The Tallback is the Chatwin that first learned to turn. It pivots on its axis — a modest mechanical fact with outsized consequences for a room. One approaches from any direction, swings toward the conversation as it drifts down the counter, and settles in without the faint comedy of dragging a seat into place.

It keeps a trick in reserve. Should you want an armrest, turn the seat a quarter beneath you and let your arm come to rest along the back; the support was there all along, waiting to be found from another angle.

A full 360-degree swivel comes standard. For those who prefer their seating to tidy up after itself, a self-return mechanism can be specified — the seat drifts back to center when you rise, squaring itself to the counter as though it had been expecting you.

Offered in counter and bar heights at 20″ diameter, each stool is built to order in your choice of twenty-six woods and an expansive range of leathers and fabrics, backrest and seat upholstered in complementary or contrasting materials as the setting asks. These same proportions, reimagined with a wraparound back, became the Chatwin Finnback Swivel Stool. The Tallback remains the original: upright, unhurried, content to turn.
