The Officer's Field Set.
Consisting of a leather clad trunk lined with Kvadrat felt which contains two folding field chairs seen here in natural finish white oak upholstered with Moore & Giles: Dresden / dark chocolate leather and Kvadrat felt slings with buckling straps in dark chocolate English bridle leather and darkened brass. Topped off with a whip-stitched field blanket by Abraham Moon & Sons, leather cushions and a magnificent umbrella by Francesco Maglia.
The Officer's Field Set was designed and made by Richard Wrightman as a special collaboration with Ghurka, the American leather goods company, to commemorate their 40th anniversary in 2015. The O.F.S. debuted at Fortnum and Mason London and coincided with the 200th anniversary of the Gurkha soldiers’ service to the British Crown.
The design brief was to make two folding chairs and a table small enough two fit into the boot of an Aston Martin. We took it a step further by creating a trunk to hold the chairs which could also be used as a table. Whether it's to a weekend at Hennie's in the speedster with the top down or bridge and G and Ts at the bottom of the garden, the Officer's Field Set is ready for your invitation to any excursion.
