5 fresh talents in interior design

By Anh-Minh Le

Designer: Lindsay Chambers

"For this project, Chambers returned to her old stomping grounds: the historic Professorville neighborhood of Palo Alto, near Stanford. The drama starts with the dark walls, contrasting against white ceiling woodwork that makes the ceiling feel lifted, says the designer. Chambers paint choice, Benjamin Moore Kendall Charcoal, works well in the space because of the abundance of natural light. Her penchant for antiques and repurposed pieces is evident in the light fixture, made of old yard sticks and procured from Therapy, as well as the metal surgical cabinet from Big Daddys Antiques. The campaign-style desk is from Richard Wrightman Design, midcentury chair from Big Daddys, table lamp from (the recently shuttered) Addison Antique and rug from The Oriental Carpet. The hues in Kelly Reemstens painting echo those in the garden that the office overlooks."
